Village traffic calming scheme

Following the interesting post about the traffic calming initiative in Buriton village and the support by EHDC,if any residents of Binsted or Blacknest would be interested in starting an action group for our own community,perhaps they could post a comment on this Blog.There is in particular an urgent need for a 40 mph speed limit with enforcement cameras on the Blacknest road and some serious traffic calming at the Jolly Farmer crossroads.

    Couldn't agree more - this is a really good idea. There is definitely a need to increase awareness of the hazardous turnings at the crossroads. Visibility is particularly bad when turning out of Binsted Road (away from the Binsted direction), and the speeds that people travel along Blacknest Road make it a pretty hazardous affair. I definitely think the 40 mph limit should be extended along from Frith End to beyond the crossroads at the very least.
