Blacknest Motorway

O.M.G ! The current resurfacing work on the Blacknest Road isn't the usual thin covering of tarmac onto the existing bumpy surface, it's an upgrade which is smoothing out all the undulations to make it more like an 'A' road! This is bound to encourage increased speed from the rat-runners - the bouncy ride on the old surface at least would have moderated some speedsters.  All we need now is three lots of double white lines and sodium street lighting.  Well at least I shall be able to land my private plane on it in an emergency !

  1. Fortunately,in an effort to limit speeds along this stretch of road, the Parish Council have submitted a case to the 'Village30' group to impose 30/40 mph speed restriction. It is also supported by the Alton Rural County Councilor,Mark Kemp-Gee
